How to annihilate your fear?

I’m guessing this isn’t the first post you’ve read on overcoming fear.

You've probably googled “how to get rid of fear?” a million times and found a bunch of bull$hit articles with no realistic solution.

Fact: Fear doesn’t go away!

Not really anyway!

Let me explain!

Fear originates in the part of your brain known as the amygdala.

The amygdala triggers fight or flight responses by preparing motor functions.

Fear is a warning mechanism.

It steers us away from danger.

➡️ YES fear is meant to protect us.

It is an imperfect system.

It glitches far more than #LinkedIn 😂

You see the amygdala struggles to differentiate between what is beneficial and what is harmful.

So it goes into default mode.

Regardless of its positive or negative impact, it disregards everything.

➡️ YES fear is robbing you of opportunities.

So what do you do?

You try to "eliminate" fear right?

The problem is:

Fear cannot be eliminated.

➡️ You are trying to get rid of something that is part of you.

You see we listen to those people who keep telling us to be “relentless.”

“You got this!”

“It’s a piece of cake.”

As well intentioned as this advice is, those people don’t walk in your shoes.

When you apply for a job in 2023 you feel uncertainty. (FEAR)

This is a NORMAL human response.

You get called in for an interview.

You feel nervous (FEAR)

This is a NORMAL human response.

What is NOT normal is another human telling you these things are abnormal.

This feeds into your fear.

I'm not going to tell you what to do!

This is what I do!

• I STOPPED listening to people!

• I guard my energy.

• I accept fear is always going to be part of my life.

• I identify the causes of my fears and confront them.

• I deal with facts (no emotions)

• I use my fear as a compass.

I f**king dance with fear!

I’m a damn good dancer 😉

Fear is with me all the time now.

Except, it is no longer in the driver's seat.

My question to you now is “Are you a good dancer?”
